Netzwork is a collective of artists that operates
simultaneously on a local and international scale. It aims
to open local opportunities for artists to a broader network
in order to share existing and develop new audiences. It
seeks an alternative way to collaborate and in the process
maximize exhibition opportunities for its members and
affiliates.
Netzwork focuses primarily on the Visual Arts but its appeal
resides in its openness to collaborate. There is no
prevailing sense of ideology (Konzeptuel) and if one can
speak of a manifesto it would be one of transparency and
communication. With this approach we have over the last few
years managed and organized a steady flow of exhibitions and
performances.
Netzwork by definition needs to be seen as an expanded field
of experimentation and communication reconfiguring itself in
unusual ways according to each individual situation.

StatementsFor me, Netzwork is the opportunity to establish strong and loose, but always interesting contacts to artists of all genres - in the immediate area as well as abroad - in order to plan with them and realize unusual projects. Netzwork means to me also a kind of freedom from market and politics, close to the idea how art actually works. Esther Glück
Think locally, act globally.

My sense of community is on an
expansive scale mainly due to my transient life within my
formative years. My father worked for the airlines and we were
forever migrating from one country to another, from one school
to another.
It is evident then, why I
create work that alludes to worlds caught within a 'twilight
zone' acting at times as potential portals from one place and
time to another. 'Netzwork' for me is similar to this in that it
creates a global network from artists to artists, cultures to
cultures, creating a window from one end of the world to the
other, so they can occasionally join and bring their creations
together.
The internet acts as a sort of
portal device, but it is the physicality that becomes lost and
this is where the potential lies in the Netzwork community. It
provides a 'spider-web' of portals that inform, celebrate, and
come together at points in time – I exist on one of these
threads.

Ralf Hanrieder Netzwork is a transboundery grouping of free artists, which is not organized and seems to work nevertheless. As long as this freedom of movement exists, it means exchange, enhancement and affiliation - to art and artists - to my "global village", which grows, when my own permissibilities and artistic criteria are constantly transcended.
I like teamwork and the idea to realize group-projects
together.
